Stripping down RemoteWebDriver

Stripping down RemoteWebDriver

Details

Hi everyone! If you've been itching for a code-centric meetup, our next event at Huddler (http://www.huddler.com/) on Feb. 29th at 6:30pm is just the thing for you.

In this highly technical talk directed at intermediate to advanced Selenium users, Santiago Suarez Ordonez, Selenium contributor and Customer Success Engineer at Sauce Labs, will analyze the architecture of RemoteWebDriver (http://code.google.com/p/selenium/wiki/RemoteWebDriver), one the most useful drivers. RemoteWebDriver lets you run WebDriver tests remotely and use Selenium Grid or Sauce Labs to scale your testing capabilities.

He'll begin with a brief intro to what RemoteWebDriver is and pros and cons of using it instead of other drivers. Then he will dive in to the codebase to discuss:

Architecture design The DesiredCapabilities object The JSONWireProtocol Binding implementations and caveats Making your own bindings This talk will help you better understand how to use RemoteWebDriver and make you aware of some issues you may run into if you do. We'll end the session with generous time for Q&A.

Thanks to our friends at Huddler for offering up their great meeting space and for supplying the food and drinks. We appreciate it!
