What are your thoughts about the Semantic Web? Is it the next Big Thing?

Well, it's a very interesting field that looms on the horizon. I'm still getting to know what I know and what I don't know.

Which new technologies would you like to learn? Have you worked with any "semantic" technologies such as XML, RDF, OWL, GRDDL, or SPARQL?

I have worked with XML, and I am currently learning about RDF and RDFS. I would be interested in OWL (theorem proving and description logics) as well as query languages like SPARQL.

Which applications or web sites will make the Semantic Web a reality in the public eye?

Not sure about specific apps or websites, but fields like NLP, Computational Linguistics and Machine Learning can generate formal ontologies from unstructured data.

To share my knowledge about developing software for the semantic web and acquire more knowledge by interacting with others in a collegial atmosphere.
