What are your thoughts about the Semantic Web? Is it the next Big Thing?

The semantic web is what we wish the web--and all our data applications--already were.

Which new technologies would you like to learn? Have you worked with any "semantic" technologies such as XML, RDF, OWL, GRDDL, or SPARQL?

Focus is on XML, RDF and how the can be used with Semantic MediaWiki. ...I think SPARQL should be next on my To Learn list.

Which applications or web sites will make the Semantic Web a reality in the public eye?

Semantic MediaWiki makes semantic data accessible to the common web developer and data manager, even when used for data transparency and not for genuine collaboration.

I'm implementing this in the blind and have a lot to learn; a lot to share, too.

What Clarence D. is saying about this Meetup Group

There's so much to learn; meetups make it easier, better, more friedly.
