The London Sewing and Craft Group Pages

What is the group about?
Crafting! If you love making things, particularly things from fabric, wool, beads or buttons then this is the group for you! This is the opportunity to talk with other people who can share your passion for crafting something special. We can certainly please most people - we keep up to date with what our members are looking for through the message boards. The aim is to keep activities and events low-cost and high quality.

Who can join?
We welcome anyone who has an interest in sewing and crafts, all we ask is you come prepared to share your thoughts, experience and projects - good and bad!

What can I post on the Message Board?
Anything that interests you. Well, obviously nothing offensive. Have a look before you post at previous posts as maybe what you want to talk about has been mentioned before and you could add to this thread rather than starting a new one. This way you are more likely to get it read by those who are 'following' the thread.

We encourage members to make suggestions for venues, topics etc via the message board.

Ideas for the future could include:
  • Craftalong picnic in the park
  • visiting exhibitions
  • visiting college/university summer shows
  • visiting open studios

What else is likely to happen at the monthly meetup?
When we meet, we show off the projects we've made, talk about where we've got stuck and get help from the others, and get inspiration for what to do next. Some members also like to bring a long any small portable project to work on during meetings; good company can even make tacking or hand sewing a hem bearable! All skill levels are welcome and beginners will usually be able to get advice from members with more experience- only enthusiasm is required!

It's the first time I've attended a Meetup and I'm feeling a bit shy / worried I won't be able to spot the group
Email me and we'll make sure someone looks out for you and makes you feel welcome!

      Any other questions?
Drop me an email or ask on the message board. If you want to know probably someone else wants to know as well!
