Success for "Dress for Success"

Hi all,

We had a really productive day last weekend converting tons of donated fabric into blouse and skirt kits ready to be finished.  A huge thanks to Karel, Susan K., Joanne and Andy for spending the whole day getting these together.

Now we need some help from the rest of you to get these garments completed!

We basically cut all the fabric we had and serged all the edges to create kits that are ready to be assembled.  We included bias strips to be used for finishing necklines, elastic for the skirts and included instructions in each kit if they were at all necessary.  The garments are really simple and should go together in an hour or two.

So how can you help?  Drop by Fabricker on Airport Blvd. or The Common Thread on South Lamar, pick up a kit, take it home, sew it up, then return it to the store you picked it up from at your convenience.  It's that easy.  Each kit includes a size label and this should be sewn into the garment to help the folks down at Dress for Success to be able to pull it from their closet easily.

Thanks in advance for all your help.  Can't wait to be able to deliver the goodies to the "Dress for Success" closet.  We'll have to ask Karel for an update in a couple of months (she volunteers down there) to see how our efforts paid off.

Oh, and do keep "Dress for Success" in mind next time you clear out your colset and you have some gently used, work appropriate garments that you'd like to donate.
