I would say that I am. I had my start as a bass player, and while I still play bass, I've been digging more and more into the world of electronic music, sound design, and production for the past several years. Currently my setup consists basically of a Mac running Ableton Live and Pro Tools, a few MIDI controllers, a decent large diaphragm condenser mic, a portable field recorder, and a pair of studio monitors that I like quite a bit.
It really is the equivalent of a blank canvas for a painter, where one can apply any number of hues, materials, and techniques to create something. I think the sonic capabilities that electronic music has can provide a more guttural expression for anyone with enough drive and even the most minimal sense of rhythm, timbre, tone, and harmony. The product of those aspects of electronic music and what some of people have been able to create with it has been very inspiring to me.
I'm an aspiring electronic musician from SF looking to reach out to other creative minds in the area for personal and creative growth.
