Hello All.

This is a follow up correspondence to Amy's original email concerning our group album.

Amy and I had a discussion and felt this would be a good path to take for our first time out.  For the December project, we can go ahead and remix the Devo 80's hit Freedom of Choice.  It has a lot of very good elements from the electro pop era as well as vocals that we can use.  We believe it will give enough song elements to inspire us :)

I have included the YouTube link so you all can listen to the original song -

In addition, here is the link that you can purchase the song stems from the Beatport website...its only $3.99

Subject: [electronicmusic-136] Meetup is on Wednesday! Year-end "album" details!

Hello SF-EMM!

Our next meetup looks to be right on schedule this Wednesday, December 1 at the Hot Spot Bar (1414 Market St). We have a couple of notes:

YEAR-END "ALBUM"

I'm putting "album" in quotes because it may be an online-only album, it may be a CD if we get enough support for it. Regardless it'll be something new.

The goal is to showcase the members of the group, so what we need from you is:
  • 1 song that you'd like to have included in this project
  • No copyrighted material ("uncleared") in it unless you have permission to distribute it
  • A basic statement from you saying that
    • you own the copyright to the song or have permission to distribute it, and
    • SF-EMM can show your name, link to the song (or host the song), maybe make an excerpt of it
  • Your name (real name or performance name, it doesn't matter)
  • Optional: link to your artist profile or web site
  • Optional: your logo or stylized name
  • Optional: short bio statement
How do you get in on this? Just email me if you'd like to participate! (amster.amster at gmail.com) If you can have the song (or a preliminary version of it) ready by this Wednesday Dec 1 we can play it at the meetup. (The final date to get the songs and info in is Sunday Dec 12.)

p.s. You might look around for stems and things such as http://www.remixstems.com/ or how BeatPort packages things, e.g.
