How does Square do it and how would Oracle fix it!

Overview:
How does Square do it and how would Oracle fix it
Panel Talks by Ryan Lowe/Dave Apgar of Square, David Stokes of Oracle MySQL.
Ryan Lowe - "How Square does it!". Overview of how Square uses MySQL and the journey from a monolithic Ruby on Rails application to a Service Oriented Architecture. Square's methodology with respect to
supporting infrastructure, developing high-availability solutions to
mitigate data loss, monitoring & trending, and some painful lessons learned along the way.

David Stokes - "Finding and fixing production issues". If the only
tool you have is a hammer, it is amazing how quickly so many things
around you get flattened. This is a quick overview of diagnosing,
triaging, and repairing problems that arise when using databases.
Many experts will advocate an extensive, holistic top-down approach
that encompasses the gestalt of the entire systemic experience and
other buzz words that are nearly impossible to implement. This talk is
on the use of simple analysis of easy to gather metrics, making
decisive actions, and continued monitoring

Looks like the meters stop at 6pm:

      http://www.sfmta.com/...

...but starting March 4th these zones will be metered until 10pm:

...not important for tonight, but for future events in the area.

If you're coming from the south, the event is a few blocks from SF Caltrain. Caltrain parking is cheap ($4 or so) and readily available later in the day. Besides, it beats fighting SF traffic!
