I really like games with simple rules yet expansive play. If a game has more complex rules, it has to really reward the effort of learning. I enjoy games with some diplomacy or where guessing the goals of other players has at least as an equal effect as chance - for example, Game of Thrones, Citadels, or Resistance. Poker fits the bill too I guess, but I'm not a gambler. I also quite like development games like Puerto Rico or Cataan. I would like to play the Civilization board game again. Adventure games or war games can be fun too. I haven't gotten into classic board games as much of late, but I've enjoyed a bit of go or chess in the past. I have a game called Attack Vector Tactical that's been sitting on my shelf for years that I have yet to play - it's a horrendously complex space combat wargame, but I'd really like to give it a go some day. I've also played quite a few RPGs over the years.
I'm here to find interesting people and things to do, mostly looking for boardgame meetups for now, but possibly other stuff later.
