Citrix Online, Google Places, UC Berkeley IST, and The Academy of Art University are sponsoring our 2011 Holiday Mixer being held at The Sir Francis Drake Hotel on December 15 at 6:30 pm in the Franciscan Room.

It has been a great year and we want to invite all members of the San Francisco Eclipse User Group to an event catered with Mediterranean cuisine, entertainment provided by Gypsy Love Productions, and several artists showcasing their art from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. 

Enjoy Mediterranean catering, beverages/cocktails, artwork, graphic/gaming demonstrations, and musical accompaniment by an Oudh Player, Arabian percussionist and belly dance performances by Gypsy Love 

In addition to wonderful food, beverages, and entertainment, there will be a wide variety of artwork, animation, video, and gaming displayed at the event – all exhibits are compliments of the Academy of Art University ( and its various departments (fine art, sculpture, illustration, animation, gaming, foundations, etc.)

We encourage all our members to RSVP and invite other local software engineers and application/cloud developers to join you and learn about our group.  We have invited all the organizations that have sponsored the Meetup events held and hosted in the past year as well as strategic partners, venture capitalists, and organizations looking to host social networking events and presentations in 2012.

Google Places Contest

Google Places will be giving away one Chromebook in a contest for attendees that will involve rating 20 of your favorite places in San Francisco. is where you go to rate on your mobile phone and you're at home.

Write 20 Google Places reviews to get in on a fun contest for a Google Chromebook! Start reviewing as many of your favorite SF restaurants, bars, shops, salons and local businesses as you like -- we'll select one lucky reader to win the Chromebook at the event!

Each review written will be another entry into the contest, so the more reviews written, the greater your chances are to walk out with the Chromebook!

If you're wondering what we're looking for in a quality review, here are a few things to consider:

- Originality - how creative or original is your review style?

- Capturing the spirit of the place - how well do you describe the atmosphere of the place?
