The San Francisco Eclipse User Group members have been invited to join the competition and global Android DevCamp hackathon taking place between February 17 - 19 representing the SF contingent.  We will be fighting with other GTUG and JUG groups around the world for the top spot and some incredible prizes.

We need to create an Android app in three days that competes on a global scale for some major prizes Google is offering.

International and local Google API experts will be available to discuss critical issues and let's just say the networking will be some of the best the Bay Area has to offer.

The entire event is catered and sleeping materials will be provided.

All this is available for only $40.00 through the Google Technology User Group in San Francisco.

  • Learn about Android
    • The event will include training on the major features of Android, including many of Google's APIs. Android enthusiasts will be on hand to help and to answer questions throughout the day.
  • Build with Us or Build Your Own
    • Throughout the weekend, we will be building a complete Android application and sharing the code with you so you can code along with us. If, on the other hand, you already have a great idea for what to build, bring that idea with you to the hackathon. Even better, bring along anything you can prepare ahead of time (sketches, designs, webpage mockups, etc.) and use the time and information provided to develop your idea into a working application, then share it with the world.
    • At the end of the day on Sunday, we'll invite you to share your Android application with the group and Global DevCamp Community.
  • What Do I Need?
    • We will provide facilities, power, food, refreshments, and experts to help you learn to use Google Api's and write your application. Just bring your laptop, ideas, and enthusiasm to complete the mix.
  • When and Where?
    • The GTUGsf Android DevCamp Hackathon 2012 will take place Friday Evening, Saturday and Sunday. (2/17, 2/18, 2/19) It will be held in San Francisco.

The Price is $40 to help offset the logistical costs and also ensure a good turnout of those RSVP'd.

Space is limited so sign up now.

I hope to see many of of our Eclipse members there and may the best city win.
