Where can I find the recorded video of this session?

Lets see. Food ran out way early. Presenter was late. I thought I had setup Netbeans correctly but mine was missing the "Servers" button so I couldn't even get started. Then we spent lots of time mucking with Maven and XML, neither of which have anything directly to do with JAX-RS 2.0. For the record, I know almost nothing about Maven and was lost there too... First time I've walked out early on an SFJava meetup.

Thanks for coming out Arun. This new hands-on format could work at lot better with a bit more preparation. I found that I was struggling to keep up because of stumbling blocks along the way. Whether it had to do with using Netbeans for the first time, or trying to figure out the maven dependencies for the Moxy stuff that didn't fully work. For the next meetup of this type, please provide an outline of the session on a web page somewhere that has these key data points, reference URLs, and code samples so I don't have to type them all in. If I can easily keep up, I can get more out of the presentation.

I was just talking so some other coworkers today who attended and now I realize that I missed that Arun was constantly checking stuff into github. Other people were pulling changes. My bad.

Still, the fact that the start of the presentation was cutting/pasting/editing XML for Maven was a major turn off. Presenter should have done that beforehand and we just download it (possibly beforehand).

Thank you Arun for the presentation and Sasha for organizing it. I know it is not an easy commute for the presenter, so I really appreciate you coming all the way to SF battling the traffic.

I really appreciated Arun's passion for the technology and what he showed us. Given his late arrival, I'm not surprised that he stumbled with the code, as he rushed to get everything working.

Arun arrived late and wasn't able to get his demo fully working.

Not enough food meant I had to leave early to eat. I understand getting stuck in traffic, but please plan for the number of attendees.

Is there a (hopefully VirtualBox-compatible) VM available to download? If not, perhaps just before the Meetup via USB stick?

    Thanks!

I unfortunately won't be able to make it because I have class on that day. Will events ever be hosted on another day other than Tuesdays?

    April 3, 2013

    • Johanne Q.

We typically meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month just to keep the schedule consistent. We usually record every event so the videos will be available if you cannot attend.

I have only basic understanding of web services....Are there any prerequisite for JAX-RS 2.0 ?

    April 3, 2013

  • Sergey

How can I expose my existing local service as a Web service providing that it is running in J2EE server environment. I don't want to change/recompile existing and running code. I am ok to make additional component and deploy it. Is it possible and how?

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
