Hack Night at Carbon Five

Pssst! This hack night is cosponsored with the Tinderbox meetup. Check out Tinderbox for additional information about our hack nights and other events. Also, please RSVP at the Tinderbox meetup.

Every 4 weeks we gather a diverse mix of developers and designers who want to code and collaborate for a couple of hours after work.

Bring a project or enthusiasm for working on someone else's. If you want to give a short presentation or run a workshop, we have the facilities and completely welcome ad-hoc organization.

We are technology agnostic. However, we're most familiar with and will be the most help with Ruby, JavaScript, and Objective-C (iOS).

We kick off with a brief daily-style intro where everyone gives their name, says what they're working on and whether or not they want a hand... then we'll get our hack on. There will be at least a couple Carbon Five folks around to help out.

Doors open at 6p, kick-off at 6:30, doors close at 9:45. We provide the infrastructure, food, beverages and some helpful hands.

Feel free to run ideas by us if you're thinking about a preso or workshop. It's not required, but it'll help us make sure we have what you need.

I'm moving to the bay area this summer, and will be attending these meetups when I do :) Until then, are there any google groups or mailing lists for ruby/rails, perhaps similar to this one in Portland? https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/pdxruby

There are a bunch of people who "want a spot." There are spots! You can RSVP over on the http://www.meetup.com/tinderbox meetup. We funnel RSVPs to one place so it's easier to keep track. See you on the 22nd!

Are any of these events going to feature mini-talks like the one a few months ago? I'd love to give an early version of a talk I'm working on.

Julian, we dedicate the conference rooms to "mini-talks" whenever someone wants to give one. So, yes! If you want I can add a blurb about yours to the meetup page and also, announce it at the event. LMK.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
