WebSharper 101: type safe web apps in F#, with Anton Tayanovskyy
Hosted by The San Francisco F# User Group
Details
Here is what you asked:
"I'd like to get started with WebSharper, but the learning curve is steep. Is there any member here who can teach us the basics and do a basic site over one or more sessions?"
Let's make it happen! WebSharper allows developing web applications with the safety of strong types all the way, by using F# both client and server side, while easily integrating with JavaScript libraries, and taking advantage of type safety and code completion with them.
As it turns out, we have a local member who should know the basics of WebSharper, and perhaps even more :) Anton Tayanovskyy (@t0yv0 (https://twitter.com/t0yv0)) is a notorious F# hacker and problem-solving addict, and before coming to the Bay Area to work with Tachyus, he was the main contributor to the WebSharper F#-to-JavaScript compiler - and he kindly accepted to answer the call.
Plan:
• 6:00: pizza & drinks, meet and greet
• 6:30: announcements
• 6:45 - 8:15: presentation
Note: this meetup will be hosted at NodePrime (http://www.nodeprime.com/), on Howard Street, in the Central Computers building, in front of Moscone Center.
