In 2006, Jim Bumgardner (https://twitter.com/jbum/) was playing with creating composite images from various Flickr images, and noticed what he called "Emergent Orange" - " the orange hue that is produced when you average together a bunch of randomly selected digital photographs."

You can find more on his work here: http://krazydad.com/blog/2013/12/05/emergent-orange/

Accident? Real deal? Let's see if we can use F# type providers, and maybe some Async, to replicate his results!

This session will be organized as an interactive workshop/coding session. Come over, and learn yourself some F# for great good! F# beginners are very welcome - it will be a great opportunity to see F# in action, and why it's awesome.

To get the most from the session please try and bring a laptop along with F# installed (ideally either Xamarin Studio, MonoDevelop or Visual Studio); you can find detailed instructions for OSX, Linux and Windows on fsharp.org (http://www.fsharp.org/).
