Talk about software architecture with the myriad open source apps...

It will be insightful if more people share how they manage, internally, the many different apps that they have adopted within their ecosystem. Especially how, from a solutions architect point of view, that they let all these co-exists and even complement each other. Is there some common layer/web-service/file import-export that is done whenever apps work with other apps?

I can share from my experience about why I used to use open source apps a lot, and how I kept them in step with each other...and also why my other engagements did not want to go there.

It will be good if we use this chance to learn what options are out there for letting these systems all work together...interoperability is probably a good tag word for this.

The session's content is not cast in stone yet. Feel free to suggest more things that you may want to chip in and share about, or want me to research a little and bring up during the session. I simply miss getting everyone together for a drink, hence this excuse for another chat.

It was a good session. The future topics that seem exciting will be about programming for the iPad, AndroidPads, XPads, whatever. As for the Physics library for game programming, I was referring to this one. Take a peek.

Looks good! I'll try my best to make it - if my ankle recovers in time :).

Draft of the talk has been uploaded.

My excuse for leaving it rather blank is so that everyone around that day can chip in their thoughts and I'll write these down on the spot, then later upload all insights so that we don't lose those valuable shared experience.

Feel free to download the draft, edit and re-upload. Butt in freely during the chat when your slides come up.

Good to know that there are people who know my pain and can share other tips as well. I can see that Stephan, FG and Tommy's messages demonstrate that they may have more to share during the actual day. Allow me to invite you guys to stand up for a minute that day and shed some light together. Or at least down some beer as fellow architects in a tough heterogeneous environment. *grin*
