New Meetup: The Singapore Linux January Meetup (DRBD Clusters)

From: Tom G.

Announcing a new Meetup for The Singapore Linux Meetup Group!

What: The Singapore Linux January Meetup (DRBD Clusters)

When: January 21,[masked]:00 PM

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Meetup Description: This month Jeff Jansen will take us through setting up a server cluster using DRBD. DRBD ("Distributed Replicated Block Device" - is software which allows you to replicate any block device (hard disks, partitions, raid arrays, logical volumes, etc.) between two computers. Because it transparently mirrors data between machines in real time, it's often referred to "RAID 1 over the network".

We'll set up DRBD on a couple of machines (using Virtual Box) and see how it works. Then we'll look at ways you might want to use it, from simple backups to integration with Heartbeat and cluster file systems for High Availability computing.
