SHARERS TALKS: The Connected Neighbor, Technology Enabled

This will be the first in a series of shared discussions on the opportunities and challenges of the sharing economy. We will start each event with influential leaders impacting the future of sharing followed by small group discussions with the people most fundamental to this connected and collaborative world, you!

For this first event, we will look at how technology is enabling us to connect with our neighbors in new ways. We’ll talk about the unique interactions, experiences, and future possibilities of what is to come. Topics to include shared wireless Internet access, innovative dining concepts, the potential impact of Bitcoin on local economies, and more. Join us as we mold our connected lives and communities!

Stanislav Shalunov, CTO, Open Garden

Stanislav Shalunov is an Internet architect who designed the new congestion control in BitTorrent (uTP/LEDBAT). In the beginning of 2011 he co-founded Open Garden. Open Garden connects smartphones and other devices into a self-organizing and self-optimizing mesh network. This peer-to-peer network improves users’ coverage and speed.

Ken Priore, General Counsel, Grindr
Ken is a technology, securities, and corporate attorney for entrepreneurs, start-ups, small businesses, and emerging brands with over 17 years experience: current focus on mobile application development, privacy, social networking and internet technology, and brand IP protection. Ken is currently General Counsel for Grindr, a mobile geo-social discovery application for gay men with over 6 million users in almost every country in the world.

Noah Karesh, Co-Founder, Feastly

Andreas Antonopoulos, Bitcoin Entrepreneur

An early pioneer who saw the potential of the Internet in 1988, Andreas helped many businesses harness new processes to take advantage of the rapid developments in open source, open standards and open networks. As a bitcoin entrepreneur, Andreas has founded three bitcoin businesses and launched several community open source projects. He often writes articles and blog posts on bitcoin and is a permanent host on Let’s
