Please tell us if you have ever been to Sicily and why you are interested in joining this group.

I spent a morning in Palermo -- going to the dentist. I've been an avid fan of Pirandello from my childhood and more recently of Andrea Camilleri. Another "connection" is the Triskeles: My family comes from a triangular island, the Isle of Man, which uses the same three-legged symbol as Sicily.

Do you speak Italian and/or Sicilian? If so, what level?

Not much beyond a few phrases from opera libretti

Send us your favorite memory, story or thought about Sicily please.

Sicily was home to Archimedes, probably the greatest genius of the ancient world.

What would you like to learn most about Sicily and its food? What are your interests?

Though I don't absolutely worship my stomach I do enjoy good food and drink, so Sicilian food and wine is a subject I'm interested in learning about.

Have you tasted the food & wine of Sicily? What do you know about it?

Andrea Camilleri incorporates mouth-watering descriptions of Sicilian food in his stories and has spiked my interest in the topic.

Hi, I'm Dorothy. Originally from Britain, I've been living in NYC for over thirty year but have never lost my accent.

My first Meetup with this group was a "Peak Experience" and its website is a wonderful resource in itself.
