About F-Ruby:
The Fukuoka Ruby Business Hub Promotion Committee (F-Ruby) is the largest Ruby community in Japan. F-Ruby was founded in 2008 as a forum for collecting the newest information on Ruby-related technologies and business models and using this knowledge to foster the development of cutting-edge software and services. F-Ruby is particularly focused on exploring Ruby in association with other programming languages such as Java, with a goal of expanding the current capabilities of the Ruby language and increasing the productivity of its members.
As one of its many activities, F-Ruby sponsors the annual Fukuoka Ruby Award, which aims to encourage Ruby developers working both independently and as part of larger organizations, to develop excellent products with Ruby-related technologies. In 2008, the award committee received applications from the US, Japan, and 6 other countries. As part of the award process, applications were evaluated by Mr. Yukihiro Matsumoto (Matz), the chief designer of the Ruby language.
Current membership in F-Ruby includes numerous individuals, public institutions, and more than 200 private companies, including corporate giants such as Rakuten, the leading Japan-based e-commerce company, and Nifty, one of the biggest ISPs in Japan. Membership in F-Ruby is open to Ruby enthusiasts and organizations worldwide.

After Passing Through the Security Gate: Once you proceed through security gate, move into the right lane before you approach the "Y" in the road (about 200 yards from the security gate). Continue in the right lane as the road bends right, a chapel will be on your right.
Carnegie Mellon's Building 23 is directly to your left. Make an immediate left into the Building 23 parking lot. You are now in the back of Building 23. Follow the signs/lights to the main entrance in the front of the building.

Seeing Matz speak at the meetup was like listening to Jesus giving a sermon at the church.
