RubyMotion for Faster Client/Server Development

Tammer Saleh and Randall Thomas, founders of Thunderbolt Labs will take you through the process of writing a RubyMotion iOS application that interfaces seamlessly with a backend Rails API. They'll explore all of the modern iOS techniques through RubyMotion, while using Storyboards, Bundler, and pulling data from a JSON API. In the process, they'll discuss the merits and pitfalls of using RubyMotion, and when it is and isn't appropriate for your project.

I've uploaded the video of this talk: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4S968Xln7o

It was a lively presentation with a well-done slide deck, but the presenters assumed a knowledge of Objective-C and Cocao, which is not going to be the case for everybody at a Ruby meetup. It was hard to follow the walk-through.

I'm not sure yet if we'll be able to record it, but we'll definitely try to work that out.

Not as in-depth as I would have liked, I don't feel compelled to make use of this tool

Good news, we've gotten a bigger room and can now fit more people. Everyone on the waiting list is now in and there's room for 43 more.

We may be able to move to a larger room if enough people end up on the waiting list. Definitely be sure to add yourself to the waiting list if you want to come.
