March Silicon Valley Ruby Meetup

No location was chosen

If you missed Ezra's presentation on Rails 3 at East Bay Ruby Meetup, here is your chance to listen to Rails / Merb core team member Yehuda Katz about Rails 3.0.

  • What is Rails 3
  • Why are they merging Rails and MERB
  • Who's on the team
  • What's the plan going forward

Bio:

Yehuda is currently employed by Engine Yard, and works full time as a Core Team Member on the Rails and Merb projects. He is the co-author of jQuery in Action and the upcoming Merb in Action, and is a contributor to Ruby in Practice. He spends most of his time hacking on Rails and Merb, but also on other Ruby community projects, like Rubinius and Datamapper. And when the solution doesn't yet exist, he'll try his hand at creating one – as such, he's also created projects like Thor and DO.rb

Directions:

We meet at building 23, stay on right as you reach a fork you will see a church on the right side, make a left into the building across the church. Meeting takes place in the open space area.

I learned a lot about Merb philosophy and how it will improve Rails. Good thought provoking questions.

Thanks for the good presentation/talk last night, Yehuda! It was insightful and comforting to know that so many bright minds are focused on making Rails a success. I look forward to being able to write plug-ins to a documented API instead of always monkey patching.
