Used to sing in high school chorus group and musicals many many years ago. Now that I enjoy urban/contemporary jazz music which does not regularly contain lyrics, I can feel a strain after I sing just one song. Since I used to sing well enough in my earlier years to have sung solos, I'd like to start exercising my vocal cords again through regular singing.
Mainly, I like songs by artists Patti Austin, Phyllis Hyman, Luther Vandross, Barry Manilow, Kem, etc. to name a few.
Once or twice a month.
A Washingtonian who enjoys singing but hasn't sung outside of my shower or enclosed car in a long time.
Because it is a a local, informal organization/group where I can sing and have fun doing so with new friends who also enjoy singing. Hope this is the group for me.
I've always enjoyed singing from school choruses to talent shows. Now, after many years, I hardly sing and would like to start exercising my vocal cords again while having fun doing it.
