When: Saturday, April 24,[masked]:00 AM
Great Wolf Lodge
1400 Great Wolf Dr
Wisconsin Dells, WI 53965
For those of you who can't do MagiQuest on April 3, here is another date that might work better for some of you. Please note that you only pay for how many GAMES are being played, not how many people are coming.
Sharing a game or being a nonplayer does not cost any more. (see below) It is a really fantastic event that kids and teens just love...and yes, adults like it, too: MagiQuest is a four-story, live-action adventure game unlike anything you?ve seen before. Armed with magic wands, players explore an enchanted kingdom to solve puzzles, discover hidden
treasures, help mystical characters, and even slay a dragon. The combination of video gaming, role-playing, and story-telling makes you the star of this one-of-a-kind experience.
See here for their official website: http://www.greatwolf....
The gist of the game is that you have a four level game where you are given riddles regarding what you have to find and where it is located. Once you find these items, they are then "stored" in your wand. When you solve the riddles, you will accumulate runes which then grant you special powers or protections to perform bigger adventures, such as fighting a dragon. There are different fun things to add to the sense of adventure such as rope walks, slides, etc., to get from floor to floor if you choose to use those. The kids (and teens) really love this. My son loved it so much that he has been asking repeatedly to go back. The teens were saw were also very involved in the game. They also post people's scores under their imaginary name on a large computerized board, which the kids love to see. Payment details:
The cost $10 for the game. If you do not have a wand, the cost for the wand is $15. The wand is able to be used for future games, so it is a one-time investment -- please hang on to it in case you want to play again someday!
When you buy the game, it is good for four consecutive days if you choose to stay overnight at the lodge and also works to solve riddles/find items and acquire two additional runes within the lodge itself. They say you can't do the two runes in the lodge without purchasing an overnight, but I believe that my son actually was able to last time we went. I can't guarantee it, but I am pretty sure we were able to do this despite what they said. If you are involved in both the Energizer and Single Parent/Divorced Adult groups, please only RSVP on one.
(I am automatically listed on both since I am the organizer.)
Also please note: Nonplayers are free. I would recommend bringing a lunch or snack unless you plan on purchasing something in the hotel.
The hours of operation are 9 am - 11 pm. We could meet at the Dutch Mill Park and Ride (Hwy 51 and Beltline) at 46 Collins Ct Madison, WI 53716 at 10.
I drive a gray Malibu. We would need to give them our full head count for the discount 72 hours prior to our event, so RSVP's will be closed three days before the event.
This is an extremely fun event that kids and teens really love. My son went once and has been asking repeatedly to do it again because he enjoyed it so much. It involves solving riddles, doing games, and being able to do a lot of climbing, sliding, etc. Again, keep your wand for future use.
