Health Care Is A Human Right!

The Single Payer National Health Care Group is a Meetup Group based in New York City. We are a coalition of several advocacy groups: Physicians for a National Health Program, HealthCare-Now!, and Private Health Insurance Must Go Coalition. We are advocates for a new-and-improved, expanded, Medicare-for-All. This will reform our health care system to one that is equitable and economical. We have created this Meetup Group to increase our outreach to the community.

Our activities include monthly meetings for the purposes of educating our members and planning events, campaigns to increase the awareness of single payer to the public, and lobbying our politicians to support the enactment of a single payer health care system.

Our health care system is in crisis now. Our health care costs per capita as a country is the highest in the world and they're still rising. Even with that, we have 46 million uninsured and 25 million people underinsured. We continue to experience or hear the horror stories of people drowning in medical debt, health insurance companies denying medically necessary care for profits, and people who can no longer afford their medicine after losing their health insurance entirely. We need reform now.
