Joannie has graciously offered up her home again this year for a Holiday Party. For those of you who have been before, you know she puts out quite the spread. For all of those of you who are Established Members, you are more than welcome to join in the fun. If you have not met the group in person yet, you have plenty of time to do that in the course of the next few weeks. The address is sent out to those members only. Joannie will provide food and she will provide soft drinks with ice, but you need to bring any alcoholic beverages. Bring your favorite holiday dish too, or Joannie suggested you e-mail her through the site if you need ideas, perhaps you can help her round out her menu. Please take the time to rsvp what you are bringing so others can try not to duplicate, or perhaps they can fill in any blanks they see . One holiday we had no desserts, and we still marvel how that happened.
She usually has a game or two too, so c'mon out and party this holiday with your 39 and Holding buddies.
This is the last day to drop off items for our Charity Project for this year. Andy and I have worked closely with Eve's place for the past several years at this time of year. Eve's Place is a shelter for battered men and women and their children. You would think that kind of thing takes a day off, but that is not the case. Each year , they have always requested we take certain things, (one year we took a pallet of sugar for Kool-aid), and usually they ask us to concentrate on older kids because the smaller ones are well taken care of in this department. This year they asked us to bring NEW items only for gift baskets they will make for the battered adults, (men and women), so we will concentrate on shampoos, conditioners, mousse, etc. Joannie said if you haven't got those items to Laura or Andy before this day, you can leave your donation at her house, and Andy will make a run out to their drop off spot the following Monday. E-mail Andy for more info on that subject.
If your plans change, please CHANGE YOUR RSVP to open up a spot for someone on the waiting list.
