What do you think about the singularity?

I believe strongly that we are rapidly advancing in many different fields and it is getting difficult to keep up. My guess is the singularity is likely to come earlier then 2045. But either way we should all be discussing it, its implications, and all the innovations and technical advances along the way. As Boy Scouts taught us, "Be prepared!".

What do you think would be fun?

It is fun for me to discuss trends and advances in science and technology. I usually learn something as I share knowledge and I enjoy learning how others view things. There have been so many times in my life where I have been through and seen people go through the process of totally changing our understanding on how or why things work and act. For example we were taught in school that the electron circles around the nucleus but that is not correct - now we know electrons live in a cloud, or just hyper-jump around. Light used to have a speed limit. Telepathy was impossible. Now all these things are new again. Just thinking of all the possibilities of what can be and that it soon will be. That is real fun for me!

Interested in new technology, futurology, space, theoretical and particle physics, music, chess, and golf (not necessarily in that order).
