Character Illustration Workshop – Sketch together

What this is

Let’s learn to create simple vector character illustrations using Illustrator. We’ll do it in person, in a small group (12 max), one-on-one. The old-fashioned way.

We'll first learn the basics of Illustrator. Then we'll go over some advanced techniques for handing shapes, styles, and color. After that we'll quickly create our first simple avatar. We'll finish by having a small set of illustrations that you can use on your own projects.

Who is it for

This is a workshop for anyone interested in illustration, character design, icon creation. We'll be using specifically Illustrator from Adobe. Beginner to intermediate levels are welcome. If you already know Photoshop, Illustrator, or other design apps and want to add basic vector illustrations to your toolkit, you're welcome too!

What you need

• Bring your laptop!

• You'll need to have Illustrator (http://www.adobe.com/products/illustrator.html)from Adobe CC installed. You can get a 30 day free trial ;)

• Feel free to BYOB (bring your own beer).

Why?

I started this group because I want to share the knowledge of using different design tools. I want to give a new take on the old way of teaching; one on one, in a small but efficient workshop. Packing the important stuff in two intense hours
