Do you want to stay on top of the latest innovations in this fast developing language?
Fancy finding out why some of the biggest organisations in the world are making the switch to Clojure?
Clojure has become very popular very quickly and is used by many top companies like Twitter, Amazon and Groupon with great success.
As a dialect of the Lisp programming language created by Rich Hickey, this functional general-purpose language runs on the Java Virtual Machine, Common Language Runtime, and JavaScript engines. Like other Lisps, Clojure treats code as data and has a sophisticated macro system.
The Clojure eXchange brings together leading experts from around the world, giving you the chance to stay ahead of the game.
Learn from the best
As with the Clojure eXchange 2012 (http://skillsmatter.com/event/scala/clojure-exchange-2012), this year promises to feature the cream of the crop from the Clojure community. This year’s line-up is being put together by Bruce Durling, CTO and co-founder of Mastodon C, and organiser/co-founder of the London Clojurians and the London Python Dojo.
Carin Meier will use Speech Acts, the philosophy of language, building a language with Clojure and Instaparse, and communication and friendship with machines (using a selection of Parrot AR Drones!). Following on from our fantastic Simplicity in Software (http://skillsmatter.com/event/agile-scrum/russ-miles-practical-simplicity-workshop) event in August with Russ Miles, using the drones will show you how practically applying simplicity can help you break down a problem and tradeoff for the right values in Architecture, Design and Code.
Got a problem with Clojure that you've been struggling with? Want the chance to meet others in the Clojure community and gain from their shared knowledge?
The Clojure eXchange brings together hundreds of experts and developers, giving you the chance to learn, share and collaborate with the best.
Our eXchanges are not simply about being lectured to, watching slides, and taking extensive notes. In 2012 (http://skillsmatter.com/event/scala/clojure-exchange-2012) we ensured that attendees had plenty of time to socialise, share and learn from the day’s experience with plenty of breaks, food & refreshments and lightning talks. This is a chance for the entire community to contribute to the day!
