Celebrate Food Day 2012

PLEASE NOTE: WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO ATTEND AND CHOOSE TO EAT A DELICIOUS FARM-TO-FORK LUNCH AT KING FAMILY FARM. WE WILL HAVE PLENTY OF FOOD. BUT, WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING ADVANCE PAYMENTS FOR THE LUNCH. YOU MAY PAY "AT THE DOOR!"

A day full of fun activities, demonstrations and education. Local farmers and food producers will be offering samples and selling their products. Local musicians will be playing music in celebration of the day. Bring a blanket and/or chair and relax under the wide oaks with your friends and family.

There will be a Farm-to-Fork Lunch that you may purchase and enjoy, starting at 1:00PM.

Menu includes fresh cornbread, freshly picked garden salad, grilled farm vegetables depending upon what is available from the field that day, black eyed peas, beet and goat cheese salad, slow smoked pulled pork, smoked chicken, Florida key lime tarts and the freshest picked corn on the cob you can imagine - picked and shucked earlier in the day by attendees! Delicious options for Vegans. $15 in advance for Adults; $20 at the door; $10 for children 10 years and under. Children under 5 eat for free.

There is not a registration fee for the day's activities. However, we welcome all donations. Profits from the lunch and all proceeds from admittance donations will benefit Slow Food Greater Sarasota and the Chapter's Edible School Garden Fund.
