Small Talk Discussion Group is a community of parents that meets once every 4-8 weeks to discuss the experience related to their young children’s language development. The group is facilitated by a licensed speech-language pathologist to provide some gentle guidance and suggestions; however the group primarily intends to promote interactive discussions about the challenges and successes during a child's early speech & language development.

The direction of the group is left up to the participants. Although the facilitators of the group will take regular surveys to make sure that we promote topics of interest, every session will allow for an open discussion of issues that range from developmental norms to language-based learning disabilities. Some other topics may include thumb sucking, selective mutism, autism spectrum, stuttering, feeding, expression, attention skills and babbling, etc.

The free discussion groups will take place in the evenings about 7:00pm at the office of Justine Sherman & Associates in the charming community of Sierra Madre, California where you can also find great restaurants and shops within walking distance. Light refreshments and childcare will be provided.
