SCUBA - This ain't your Mommas Meetup!

IMPORTANT UPDATE

I am going to have to postpone this meet up. Currently we are experiencing a large south swell. It is expected to die down a bit on Wednesday, but then gain more momentum and be back up by the weekend. For generally good conditions in Laguna, we need a swell coming in from the North West. Additionally, since this is a "Beach Entry", we have to consider the swell height at entry. If we were to go thru with it, we are expected to try and enter thru 6 foot surf, which is too high and dangerous (unless of course you're a Navy Seal)....which I am not.

So for safety reasons alone, I am pulling this meet up and will reschedule on another day. Also, if you try it on your own (inadvisable), the beach will most likely be closed to diving because of the conditions.

Sorry everyone......but safety first when it comes to an already dangerous sport!

Ok...for non-divers, that may sound scary. For Divers....it's all good, and we've all heard it before.

We will meet at the stairs to SHAWS at 6:30 am and check out the conditions. I plan to do 2 dives, and we can either stay together or not....but you MUST stay with your buddy! NO EXCEPTIONS! I will check the dive forecast and any surge reports and keep everyone updated. Please keep in mind that if conditions go bad, or it doesn't look good.....we will postpone for safety reasons, and go have an awesome breakfast!

I will be doing 2 dives each day, and then hitting a local burger joint or probably bloody marys at Henneseys. This will show as multiple posts, but one is for saturday, and the other for sunday.

If you don't have all your own gear, I know that Sport Chalet will rent for the whole weekend a around $45. I also shoot video with my Go-Pro, and would love to make a Social Mixin underwater video. I will try to upload one of my recent videos to YouTube and post the link here. For anyone interested in getting certified, I highly recommend it!!!
