  • June 20, 2012 · 6:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Come and share your experiences as a software developer in the Madison area. We have self-employed, contractors, work-from-home, entrepreneurs, code monkeys, web monkeys, java monkeys, database monkeys, pixel monkeys, you name it. Looking for a job? We have people looking for programmers too.

Things we've discussed are previous meetings:
* the latest web technologies
* scripting languages such as Ruby and Python
* compiled languages such as Java, C#, and C++
* source control
* testing/debugging/QA
* working from home
* working in a cube farm
* corporate politics
* iPhone programming and "the Apple effect"
* beer

Etc. Ever interesting, never boring, something for everyone.

    Great group of people getting together to socialize.

    This presentation wasn't really my thing, but that's okay. Other presentations would be cool, maybe shorter would be better.

    I think I like the less structured meetings better.

    I prefer meetings where we just drink beer around round tables, but having presentations is also nice.

    I was recently laid-off from American Family insurance. I am now working on electronic publications and an associated website.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
