Re: [softwaredev-113] Meetup in ONE HOUR!

So you're not wasting our time and yours, as well as filling up our inboxes with needless emails, go to a job site like monster or dice and look at how other people post jobs. Model your posting for a job like those postings. If you don't know what technologies you will need to complete the project then at the very least put your concepts out there, generalize so as to not reveal what you're trying to do.  For example "I'm looking for full or part time developers with x years experience with desktop/web based applications for a project that will provide in-flight video game/ video entertainment. As this is a start up opportunity I am in need of individuals to help me architect this solution from the ground up. My ideal platforms are aaa and bbb, however I am open to proposals for other platforms. Working remotely is/not available. "

Speaking as a developer who looks for side projects I start to become very leery when someone "with the next big idea" can't articulate general concepts. It makes me look elsewhere quickly.

How are you going to find a developer if you cannot even give up the technology they will need to know.

Example:
Java, .Net, C/C++, etc.

So far there are no spaces on the West side.  Jenna Weber, one of my coworking compatriots, is interested in opening something in Middleton but I haven't seen anything recently on that front.

Its funny how spoiled we are in Madison - a 20 minute drive is considered by many to be "too far" to go.

If you're committed to Madison having a coworking space on the West side, I can put you in touch with Jenna and you can work on opening something - I'd love to see this happen.

Feel free to stop in at Horizon 8-6 M-F - If any of you freelance and need a more professional place to take meetings, this is a good option.

Jonathan

Off topic, but regarding co-working: Are there any other co-working locations in Madison/Middleton?  I just happened upon horizon's website yesterday, but getting over there would be a challenge for me without a car on the west side. :)

Not that it helps you, but Sector 67 also provides co-working space. It's on the east side though.
