Couth Buzzard book store and cafe has an intimate performance space that regularly hosts music events. The SiS showcase here is a recurring event every 1st Saturday of the month.
This venue is unable to have a stage or stage lighting so it is best suited for solo artists and at most duos. We'll keep it simple and relatively low volume.
Note: Individual performance times will be determined at the venue the evening of the showcase.
Sound check and back lining gear is at 7:00 p.m.
Each performer plays for about 25 minutes.
Everyone is encouraged to attend and support even if you aren't performing. Should be a great evening!

"When you give, good things happen in your community."
We’re excited that Songwriters in Seattle will again be part of Washington's GiveBIG non-profit org fundraising event this year on May 7th-8th! It's the one time of the year we directly ask for donations from our members to support the volunteer efforts, event costs, and admin costs for our very active non-profit organization. We continue to build and serve our creative songwriting community with what limited resources we have. Your donations make a difference and have an impact!
As we continue to bring back live events, it's important that we have a solid financial foundation. For the benefit of both our online efforts and in-person events, if you can afford even a small donation to support Songwriters in Seattle, it would be greatly appreciated. If you can't afford it, or prefer to pay only for those events where direct costs are incurred at this time, know that we understand and still hope to see you online or in person to be part of this supportive community for our many free events.
Donations made to Songwriters in Seattle through our page on The 501 Commons website (www.wagives.org/organization/songwritersinseattle) will be available ON MAY 7TH-8TH ONLY! To avoid transaction fees, cash or check donations (made out to Songwriters in Seattle - send a direct message to Todd Christoffel for address to send checks) are always appreciated and receipts for your tax records are available on request.
Songwriters in Seattle's hundreds of hours of volunteer time make us what we are today - our event hosts and those who make things happen behind the scenes are supporting SiS every day through their good works! Please do your part to support our continued success: Make your tax-deductible donation, stretch it even further with your own company's matching funds, share with your friends (#GiveBIG), and be a part of our songwriting community’s biggest day of giving for the year. Help us continue to bring more impactful and creative events to the Songwriters in Seattle calendar. Please Give BIG - thank you!

Come along and write some songs and have some creative fun! Using interesting and quirky songwriting prompts, we'll use short, timed writing sessions to unleash the imagination and dream some brand new music into being. No pressure, just pure creative exploration for the joy of it.
If you're feeling a bit stuck creatively... if you haven't written anything in a while... if you want some time out to just feel what wants to be expressed inside you... or if you're noticing that songwriting isn't that enjoyable anymore... This will be a ton of fun. All welcome! The focus is on your personal creative process and not on feedback but in between writing sessions, there will be space for a few folks to share their works in progress.
