If our OFF THE WALL community of art, artists and art lovers has lacked one thing, it's interactive opportunities to LEARN AND CREATE. We start closing that gap on SUNDAY, OCTOBER 21, with our first-ever SUNDAY WITH THE MASTERS event, which connect us to the expertise and guidance of two of our current Mary Liz Fellows, RICK WRIGHT and MARLISE TKACZUK -- and connect us to the energizing experience of MAKING ART!

The day will stretch over approximately FOUR HOURS, structured as follows:

11:00 - Meet in front of DIRTY FRANK'S (NE Corner, 13th & Pine) for a WALKING DIGITAL PHOTO CLASS  with RICK WRIGHT.
You'll tour the neighborhood as Rick leads you through hands-on demonstrations of how to focus your eye and strengthen your digital photography skills, including one-on-one coaching.
Prerequisites: As with all OFF THE WALL educational opportunities, NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE is needed...just BRING YOUR CAMERA!
Weather Forecast: Right now, it's expected to be cloudy with temps topping off around 59 degrees.

12:30 - We'll gather back at Frank's for a PIZZA LUNCH!

1:30 - Staying inside, it will be time for the DIY SILKSCREENING WORKSHOP with MARLISE TKACZUK.
Marlise will set up a small press at the front of the bar for hand-pulling silkscreens...and she has created a couple of fun ones for just this occasion, both Halloween-themed and Frank's-themed.  She will step you through not only how to ink and pull a screen...but also how you can go off and do this yourself with the right equipment and supplies.  It's a fine art but it's one that really ANYONE CAN DO!
Prerequisites: Once again, NONE...but DO BRING ANY PRINTING CLOTHING OR ACCESSORIES, including t-shirts, kids' clothing (even onesies if they're large enough), messenger bags, hoodies or just art paper!  To be sure, you get to KEEP THE ART that you make with Marlise!
But Is It Safe?: Marlise uses water-based ink and environmentally friendly supplies so it's safe to the touch, to wear, to wash -- and, for excess supplies, to pour into plumbing systems.

HOW DO I REGISTER?  You can go into Frank's/OFF THE WALL to sign up and pay your registration fee, or you can write back RIGHT HERE, and I'll get you on the list.

HOW MUCH?  Each SUNDAY WITH THE MASTERS workshop is $10...BOTH are $15, including our pizza lunch!

HOW MANY?  That's a good question.  We're trying to hold the WALKING DIGITAL PHOTO CLASS to the first 12 REGISTRANTS (though we may go a little over), since Rick needs time to provide personalized feedback and coaching.  The DIY SILKSCREENING WORKSHOP will be slightly larger, about 20, but again Marlise wants to work with everyone, which means we need to set a limit.

So please write back ASAP if this is something you want to do and indicate WHICH WORKSHOP(S) you're signing up for.

Now let's turn on our cameras, roll up our sleeves and CREATE!
