Group Camping at Penrose Point State Park

A great south end state park located on the Key Peninsula of Puget Sound.   We have reserved the group campsite for 3 nights.   This location is approximately 15 miles from Tacoma.   These group campsites have space for 50 campers and huge fire pits.     There are flush toilets and coin operated showers.

Driving Directions:   From SR 16 at Purdy, follow SR 302 and the Key Peninsula Highway south through the towns of Key Center and Home.  Turn left at Cornwall Road KPS (second road after crossing the Home Bridge).  Continue about 1-1/4 miles, turning left onto 158 Ave. KPS and into the park.

Kathy, please pay ahead of time. You can send the check to Jim at the SSS or give the money to Karen. Right now we are trying to confirm just who is actually going. Jim's address is posted with the second posting for this event with SSS. I had to post it twice because of Paypal not taking any more RSVP's on the original post when the new Organizer took over. Paypal is hooked to the head organizer, and shuts down if there is any change made. The head organizer is the one spokesperson accountable to paypal. (Just to let everybody know how this works)

I am signed up through the Tacoma Mountaineers site. Do we pay in advance or when we arrive at campground?

We have the group area with about fifteen sites. You can go to the state park web site to see the group loop. We camped here last summer so check out the pictures fom that trip.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
