I am attaching updated info on the 2013-2014 Australian Ambassador program in Spain for dissemination in Uni Melb.
I am attaching current general info on the program. There are over 100 positions available for Australian nationals every year.
On 10 Jan 2013, the application period for the language assistant program in Spain opened. You need to apply online in PROFEX. www.educacion.es/profex.
To start with the registration process you need to open an account in PROFEX using your passport number. Then you will get an email. You need to click on the link to activate your account and then you start the registration process.
As you know this program is a paid internship to teach English in Spain in an Australian Ambassador program. You can find more information about this program in this web page.
You can find more information on the program on this page with some testimonies in English from previous language assistants.
Applicants need to submit their applications from 10 January 2013- till end of March 2013 to start a 9 month program from October 1 2013 till the end of May or June 2014 or a 5 month program from 1 Jan till end of May.
The process of submitting the application is all on-line and it can be a little tricky. You can find attached a detailed guide in English about PROFEX (the application system).
The amount paid for 12 hours of work weekly is enough to live in Spain and cover accomodation costs. It is usually recommended to go to middle size towns instead of big capital cities Madrid or Barcelona since you can do more things with the same amount of money and living costs are not so dear. You can choose three of your favourite regions in Spain to go to. You can also choose the type of school (primary, secondary or adult education).
It is a great opportunity to have a European experience, in a real work program that still leaves you plenty of free time to enjoy the country and improve his language skills in Spanish.
We have a permanent Education Office of the Embassy of Spain in Canberra and this is our web page.
