Deep Dive with Spark Streaming

Spark Streaming is an extension to Spark for doing large scale near-real-time stream processing. We introduced the basic concepts behind Spark Streaming and its programming interface in an earlier meetup (https://www.meetup.com/spark-users/events/104709802/) (video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKdm4NCtYgk)) when we released its public alpha along with Spark 0.7. In this meetup, we are going to take a deeper dive into using Spark Streaming. In particular, we are going to discuss advanced aspects like optimizing a streaming computation, checkpointing, writing your own streaming input source, etc.

Adatao and Plug And Play has graciously offered to host this meetup at Plug and Play's Sunnyvale office. Food will be provided. Doors open at 6:30 PM, and the talk start at 7 PM.
