Basic electronic soldering

Come to Splatspace and learn the basics of through-hole soldering.

There is no charge for the class, but you'll need something to practice on. You can buy many different kinds of electronics soldering kits at Radio Shack, or we have some other options:

We have three Solarbotics Ardweeny kits and two Modern Device's RBBB kits. These would be great to use if you want to get into Arduino or other microcontrollers. For future experimentation we have three Solarbotics Breadboard 5V power supply kits, very handy for prototyping.

We also have Brain Machine, Drawdio, and TVBGone kits from Adafruit. (One each.)

Any of the above kits will be available for list price, which you can easily look up. We also have a few Velleman electronics kits of various kinds, usually $10 to $15.

Lastly, if you don't want to buy any kit, we can scrounge up some random parts and boards so that you can just practice the skills of soldering without actually making anything to keep.

Adults and children 8+ (with supervising parent or guardian) are welcome.
