OK, first the good news: there will be pizza and drinks, so show up hungry!
Next the so-so news: the meeting will be in Innovation Park, which is next to the Penn Stater Conference Hotel, past Beaver Stadium. Hopefully that's not too much of a pain for people, but we have a nice conference room and projector to use. The Red Link bus runs out there every half hour or so from the northern half of campus, and there's free parking right next to the building. Let me know if anyone wants a ride out there.
Here's the Red Link schedule:
http://www.catabus.com/looplink/schedule/schedule.htmAnd here's a map showing the location of the building (take exit "A" if you're driving along park avenue from campus. The building will be the first one on your right):
http://links.westarete.com/55The building is basically right across the street from the Penn Stater Conference Hotel. The building is "L" shaped, and you can enter on either side near the bend in the "L".
If you have any trouble finding it, my cell phone number is [masked].
If you're pretty new to Ruby, or to programming in general, you'll get a lot more out of the meeting if you can play around with Ruby beforehand. Take 15 minutes and go through the following tutorial. It's easy to do because you don't have to install anything on your computer -- you can just work with Ruby right in your web browser:
http://tryruby.hobix.com/Bring a laptop if you can, but it's totally fine if you can't. If at all possible, try to get Ruby, Rails, and a database installed and working on your laptop ahead of time. If you have any trouble, bring it along anyway, and we can figure it out.
See you tomorrow at 7pm,
Scott
