Come learn about performing machine learning in R. Both the caret and h2o packages will be discussed along with different methods of evaluation. Basic implementations of popular machine learning algorithms in R will be explained, including Random Forests, K-nearest neighbors, Support Vector Machine and Neural Networks. This is your chance to see how easy it is to dive into the world of machine learning.

Eric Koziol is currently a data scientist for KPMG where he performs advanced predictive modeling and visualizations in the government and infrastructure sectors. He is formerly a forensic structural engineer and holds a Professional Engineering license in Illinois. He holds both a Bachelors and Masters degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Eric also enjoys many outdoor activities include rock climbing, snowboarding, mountain biking and ultimate frisbee.
