Non Parametrics in R (using experimental data)

Details

Hello DC hackeRs,

Our next meetup is scheduled for Thursday 7/21 at 7pm at LivingSocial in downtown DC. Many thanks to LivingSocial once again for hosting us and providing pizza and drinks.

Kahwa Douoguih and Katya Vasilaky have PhDs in Economics from the University of Maryland. They focus on the use of randomized control trials and experiments to tease out causality in data. Many of their experiments have been run in East and West Africa (as well as the US) to uncover best business practices amongst local entrepreneurs. In the meetup we'll be focusing on the use of R's non parametric statistics and panel data package for evaluating the impact of our trials. Non fancy R code, so good for beginners.

Stay tuned for further meetups in August, September & October. In August it is very likely that we'll have John Myles White @johnmyleswhite come down from NJ and share his modeling expertise with us. I'm also working on putting together an Intro to R workshop or meetup soon.

See you soon!

Marck
