Themes and Plugins - The St. Louis WordPress Meetup

Details
Update: Location has changed!
We're now meeting at Lab1500 (http://www.lab1500.com), a brilliant co-working space located on Washington Ave.
Lab1500 is located at:
1500 Washington Ave., Suite 100
St. Louis, MO 63103
The entrance is on 15th Street and we'll be on the ground floor! Parking is on the street and the meters stop running at 7pm.
Sorry for the short notice. We spoke to the folks at goBrandgo! and since they are shifting business strategy (and because the awesome Ben Gandhi-Shepard is leaving) they are no longer going to be our host for the General WordPress Meetup. We hoped to have this last meetup at goBrandgo! to not only say goodbye and thanks, but to let you all prepare for the change.
However, stuff happened and now we're moving to Lab1500 for (at least) July and August! Please help spread the word and again, I apologize for the confusion.
-Chris K.
Original Agenda:
How do you find good themes and plugins? Over the last few months we've covered setting up a development site, moving it to production, and the anatomy of WordPress. Now we get to the fun part!
This month we'll talk about some best practices to pick themes and plugins, what are starter themes & child themes (and why they're important), and have a open conversation* around choosing and using themes and plugins.
If you have a category of plugin or theme you're looking for (like a good event calendar plugin or a great theme for wedding photography) let us know! We'll be sure to work it into the conversation.
*Opinions on what are good themes/plugins can sometimes approach sports fan rivalry levels. It's like discussing who's the best baseball team (Cardinals of course), or the best Harry Potter book (Deathly Hallows), or the best St. Louis pizza...I'm not even going to suggest an answer for that last one.
Agenda
Since many folks attend with questions in-hand we want to make it easier for them to get answers. Instead of making them wait till the end of the evening to ask their questions, we're going to dedicate the first 30 minutes of the evening to questions and conversation.
Roughly:
6pm to 6:30pm - Question and Answer time. Come to help others, ask questions, and socialize before the main event.
6:30pm to 6:45pm - Introductions and housekeeping.
6:45pm to 8pm - Main topic of the evening and presentations.
