Play Canasta

Canasta is a fun and interesting card game, challenging and strategic, not nearly as difficult as Bridge but equally entertaining.

We play according to the Classic Canasta rules. You should familiarize yourself with the rules by studying these two pages (you can ignore all "variations"):

http://www.pagat.com/rummy/canasta.html#terminology

http://www.pagat.com/rummy/canasta.html#classic

If this is the first time you are attending a Canasta meetup be sure to provide your e-mail address, cell phone number and to indicate whether or not you know how to play. These questions are posed when you RSVP, please do not ignore them.

NOTE: Preference will be given to people who already know how to play. If there is room for beginners then we will start the meetup with a lesson, in which case you will be sent an e-mail informing you of this.

Note that the game can be played by either 4 or 6 people which makes it extra important that you keep your RSVP up to date and only sign up if you are committed to participating.

Bring a snack to share. I will provide coffee and tea.

Address, etc. will be e-mailed to all Yes RSVPers on Friday evening.

Cut the deck and let the game begin! :-)

We have room for one OR three more players. Need an answer from Ronny, Emil and Mkay43...do you already know how to play Canasta? What is your e-mail address and phone number? Please send me a message with the answers to these questions :-)
