Democratic Club of Sunnyvale Message Board › John McCain, The Republicans Edsel

If you are old enough to remember the Edsel Ford then you have a lot in common with the Republican candidate for the office of president of the United States. The Edsel was around in the late 50's or early 60's but lasted only a couple of years before the model was halted due to a lack of sales. John McCain has a lot in common with the Edsel Ford in that his ideas are those of the past and his design for the future is connected to the past. It was obvious that when the Edsel made it's debut that it was not what the people wanted as is the same ideas of the Republican candidate that wants to continue the war in Iraq for years to come. It seems that Ford had no idea how the Edsel would turn out so bad just as the Republican party has no idea on how this country feels about war and the economy (something that McCain admits that he knows little about). The fact that McCain would be a 72 years old president and his ideas for the future are not those of the American people make this man the Edsel Ford of 2008. We can do a lot better with Barach or Hillary.
