Start Up Addicts Viva Chile Mixer

We invite you down to have a drink, network with other start ups in the south bay. We are over the summer sessions, and we will start to plan a series of educational and fun Meet Up for the fall winter, and no better way to kick it off with an offer from Start Up Chile, and Chilean Government to come down, have a drinks on us, and hear why you can get seed funding from the Chilean Government to help seed yous start up dream!

Diego Alcaíno, who works for the Chilean government, is in Palo Alto running a new initiative called Start-Up Chile, which aims to attract world-class early stage entrepreneurs to start their businesses in Chile. This is a pilot program that will select 25 entrepreneurs and offer them a 1-yr resident visa, and a USD $40k grant to cover expenses for six months. Their office will also help them with local networking and support. This program aims to create cross- fertilization between international and local entrepreneurs. They are setting up a blog at https://www.startupchile.org where you can read more about entrepreneurship and innovation in Chile. There is also an on- line application system ( https://www.corfo.cl/startupchil e) where interested entrepreneurs can apply. Already 6 projects have been selected.
