We'll open with a lightning talk by Josh Adams (https://twitter.com/vermont42)titled: GPX Data in the Simulator and then roll to:

Talk #1: Accessibility, Three Ways by Sommer Panage

This isn’t one talk but rather three lightening talks joined by one common theme: Accessibility.

In the first talk, “Accessibility and You”, I’ll be covering, generally, what accessibility means for you and your app and why it matters. We will look at some examples of accessible mobile technologies and I’ll show some “good” and “bad” case studies of accessibility.

In the second talk, “What’s new in iOS Accessibility,” I will discuss what new APIs iOS 8 and 9 bring and how you can harness them to make your app offer cutting-edge #a11y. I’ll also touch on the key issue of backwards compatibility.

Finally, in the third talk, “Accessibility + FRP = Fun,” I’ll cover how Swift accessibility code is a fantastic candidate for FRP (via RAC 4). We’ll look at some examples of why this pairing works particularly well.

About your speaker: Sommer Panage

Sommer Panage is currently a freelance mobile software developer and circus artist. Previously, she worked as the lead for Mobile Accessibility on iOS and Android at Twitter. Before moving into this role, she worked on various iOS projects such as DMs and Anti-spam. Prior to Twitter, Sommer worked on the iOS team at Apple. She earned her BA in Psychology and MS in Computer Science at Stanford University. You can follow her at @sommer. (https://twitter.com/sommer)

Talk #2: The Astonishing Powers and Mesmerizing Secrets of 3D Touch by Alexis Gallagher

3D Touch is big. It is the most significant new input method added to the platform since the original iPhone. Apple supports using it for navigation shortcuts, called Quick Actions, which this talk will explain. But there is also a lower level API for accessing raw pressure data, which you could use to create innumerable, completely novel user experiences. This talk will walk through this API, carefully examine the limits of the new sensors, and then wildly speculate on what it could mean for your apps.

About your speaker: Alexis Gallagher

Alexis Gallagher is a freelance developer. Over five years with iOS he's built apps for surgeons in Montreal, oyster-fanciers in New York, and friendly goliaths like McKinsey & Co, while also helping various early stage startups backed by YC, a16z, and other firms. In other days and other cities, he has worked in science, or finance, or theater, or all of the above. You can follow him at @alexisgallagher. (https://twitter.com/alexisgallagher)
