6:45 PM — IBM TALK
🌎 Server-side Swift, with the Kitura web framework
Chris Bailey (https://twitter.com/chris__bailey/), Senior Technical Staff Member, Swift@IBM
Ian Partridge (https://twitter.com/alfa), Senior Developer, Swift@IBM
Swift now runs on Linux, and that means it can be used on servers, in data centers, and in the cloud. This makes it possible to use not just the same language on client and server, but also to reuse code. There is now a burgeoning server-side ecosystem, with a number of web frameworks appearing, including Kitura.
This session will introduce you to Swift on the server, and show you how to build your first server application with Kitura.
7:30 PM — PANEL DISCUSSION
Chris and Ian will be joined by Dan Cutting (https://twitter.com/dcutting) and Yvette Cook (https://twitter.com/ynzc) for a panel discussion on server-side Swift, Swift 3.0, and more. Audience participation welcome :)
