Title: Smart Meter Data – promise of big data analytics justified?

Abstract:
In the age of big data we can handle the amount and speed of smart meter data - but does more data mean better information? Join in to look at typical challenges arising from an analytics point-of-view on energy demand profiles available for individual households.

After an initial pilot phase for the last couple of years the roll-out of smart meter devices is progressing. With this data a time-of-use tariff offered by energy providers to their business and private customers presents an attractive offer to reward off-peak electricity usage.
